[Challenge]
Emerging Young Artists (EYA) is a not-for-profit organization based in Toronto, aiming to increase appreciation for emerging artists’ work through the public exhibition. With their new exhibition in spring 2018, they are looking for a new logo that can both represent the behind-meaning of the name DE/ATTACHMENT and put them apart from other exhibitions in Toronto.

Our similarities bring us to a common ground; our differences allow us to be fascinated by each other.
- Tom Robbins, American Novelist
[Idea]
I approach the design from the research of related artwork about the theme. After several sketches, I decided to use the symmetry text of both words to represents the dual relationship between them. The poster has both white and black version and can be seen up-side-down as to convey the fact that one decides to detach something must be attached to it first and vice versa.

My Role:
I work as a freelance designer along with the curator team to brainstorm and generate the design across web and print.
